![]() It is kinda interesting since the whole game is about building up tension but the base game content loses a lot of that creepy atmosphere when you are doing new game + with buffs etc, so having challenges built in is really a neat side motivation for playing it again. I had no idea it was a thing playing thru the game the first time, so it was a cool surprise upon finishing it and made me instantly wanna replay it. I think from a game design pov having those unlockables and whatnot was presented real well. I will report back wrt rocket pistol here shortly. I killed the boss ya noted the instant he hit the ground with STAKE btw. I really enjoyed trying to streamline my speed run to get under 3 hrs, so that is where I’m coming from in that regard. Yeah it depends on what kinda game mechanics you like to optimize for fun. Seriously every weapon in the weapon sandbox has it’s role, is greatly balanced and all are useful af plus it’s always fun to manage your resources…all this with having infinite ammo goes away and it’s more than half of the fun IMO. It really isn’t all that hard if you have upgraded Ethan’s health/block and know what you are doing and be ready resource wise for the biggest challenges. …ll definitely try it out on more bosses next run, it definitely made a big difference in the Urias fight though…this mofo has a LOT of HP at VoS and yesterday he died much earlier than I was expecting, it took me by surprise actually lol Totally agree about the importance of replay value, I love replaying games and having unlockables/challenges available after the first playthrough is always a big plus for me.Įdit: Can’t wait to read your impressions on the Rocket Pistol. You think I should go for the WCX infinite or Wolfsbane infinite for my first Village of shadows playthru I already have the infinite grenade launcher. It saved me a lot of spending money on ammo and resources. After I beat the game the first time, I unlocked the Dragoon, got infinite ammo for it and the 1911. Absolutely agree, I’m even willing to say that the multiplier extends to main bosses as I’ve been wrecking them with the Wolfsbane (time challenges are a breeze). ![]()
